Traveltime Again: San Carlos City, Pangasinan

San Carlos City in Pangasinan is such a lovely and vibrant urban area just like Pangasinan's capital town, Lingayen. I basically grew up and went to school in the area and after several years, I thought I should visit the place again check out how things are going over there, especially Virgen Milagrosa University Foundation, my Alma Mater. And I want to share the pictures I saw over the internet(and in facebook in particular) and yes they really look stunning just like what you will see in the following pictures and videos:

VMUF Campus:

Foreign students enjoying playing soccer inside the VMUF campus:

VMUF Commercial:
While inside the campus, I tried to browse the internet with mg Qube M1 Netbook through the schools 10MBPS WIFI service because I forgot to bring my cellphone and oh yeah, it was really blazingly fast. And speaking of cellphone, I really really love this very futuristic and very slick design:
The whole phone is made up of transparent plastic material...aint that so cool?

Traveltime: Lingayen, Pangasinan

I recently visited this very historic place in the Philippines and I am not disappointed with what I saw. I really enjoyed my trip and want to share some pictures of what I saw. In general, the sprawling complex has so much to offer, it is not overcrowded with people, and there so many beautiful things that the eye can feast on.

The Capitol Bldg at night is such a beauty:

This is the Pangasinan Capitol Building...one of the Architectural Treasures of the Philippines.

The front and back of the capitol building is a sprawling park. The Governor of the province is planning to transform the surrounding areas of the capitol grounds to be the next major Central Business District in the Philippines similar to Makati, Ortigas Center and Fort Bonifacio.

At ground level, the park is so green:

Aside from the Capitol Bldg and its park, there are also three other beautifully restored bldgs around it, these are the Urduja House, Sison Auditorium, the Capitol Resorts.

The Urduja House is the official residence of the governor, and here are some photos of it taken from another blog:

There is also a must see which is the interior of the Sison Auditorium(it is a mulitpurpose bldg suitable as a venue for theatrical plays and musicals, conventions and exhibitions, concerts, etc), which I think is perhaps 100% more beautiful than Metro Manila's CCP:

And here's another interesting view of the interior taken at a different angle:

And finally, the Capitol Resort Hotel:

At the back of this building is the famous Lingayen Gulf and is the place of the most romantic and beautiful Sunset.

You can view this famous Sunset at the rooftop of the Capitol Building. I stayed there overnight and strolled early in the morning and jogged at their huge track and field stadium.

Their downtown is also a place of interest because there are 2 big malls and a lot of fast food restaurants like Jollibee and McDonald's.

Update: Lingayen Capitol Grounds has new tourist attraction: The Lingayen Baywalk is currently being extended to the adjacent town.

And a new tourist wharf is being planned to be constructed along the baywalk:
update as of 4/21/2016:
The tourist wharf was cancelled but there are a few major tourism related projects that were currently implemented which includes the restoration of the Spanish-era Pangasinan Capitol Bldg, a new Limahong Museum along the Agno River and a high rise Condotel bldg.

Update: 10/04/2022:
A lot of new developments has happened in surrounding areas of the Capitol Grounds. Unfortunately, the planned condotel did pushed through, but so many resorts were put up along the bay walk area. I grabbed several youtube videos for you to enjoy:

Another interesting point of interest is the Daang Kalikasan which was voted as the Country's Highway with the most beautiful view by a certain youtuber(sorry I cant remember his name, I think it was "SefTV"). I grabbed an image from the internet(I have not gone there y myself but I heard that it is really beautiful.

My A4Tech Wireless Mouse

It was barely almost 3 weeks after I bought my A4Tech wireless mouse and it seems that the 2 AAA batteries has been drained already. Hmmm thats weird, the saleslady has told me it will last a couple of months, but how come it it took only 3 weeks...way below what she said has told me. So for now, I will be temporarily going to use my old mouse which I bought from CDR King...and when I inserted it...it seems that its old defect was gone...it must have been caused by a virus. I think, my old mouse will still be useful and I may be able to keep my A4Tech wireless mouse on my shelf for a very long time. I am sure of this because I have reformatted my Qube M1 Netbook the other night.

After reformatted my netbook, I got so hungry so I decided to cooked an instant pansit canton but with a little twist. The ingredients is as follows:
  1. 1 Instant Pancit Canton
  2. 2 Cloves of garlic(minced)
  3. 30g cubed ham
  4. 3 table spoons of vinegar
  5. 1 hard boiled egg

This is a very healthy food and is very cheap.

LG LD330 is the star of my Weekend!

I have finally given in to my heart's desire. I just couldn't help it! I must admit...LCD TV's are must haves in every man's room. I have been stopping myself from buying it but each time I passed by every appliance store in Metro Manila, I could not stop myself to just pass by...I always seem to be too attracted by the brightness and clarity of the pictures. So I finally decided to buy a new 32" LCD TV and I have chosen the LG LD330 because of the price and picture quality and well it was within my budget.

I spent the whole weekend with this really cool new stuff I got and watch movies with a big screen tv is way too different from watching it on a small screen. I also used it as my PC monitor and it was a superb computing experience. I wish all offices should be using computer screens like this...it will really encourage every employee to become more productive...especially the programmers like me haha.

But I will be using my LG LD330 32" LCD TV as my pc monitor temporarily. I am just experimenting whether it is really awesome to use it and yes, it really is, the only drawdown is it eats too much electricity and because of this, I wont be storing my Samsung LED Sycmaster EX2020.

I Just bought a new wireless mouse

The old mouse I bought from CDR King has worn out after 3 months I bought it. It was cheap wired optical  mouse. I really did not know why it got busted (it still working but the left button is already hard to press. I have to press it 5x to click on something and is already affecting my productivity)but anyway, I am really planning to replace it with a wireless mouse.

So I went to Asianic(a computer shop that has branches in almost all SM Malls) and found this A4Tech wireless mouse. It looks ok, no wires, but it needs to be powered by 2 AAA batteries, a little more comfortable to hold on because it is heavier than my old mouse and I no longer have to click 5 times anything on the screen. Now that has really solved my problem.

It was a lazy weekend and I still have time to stroll around and I thought I should take some more random pictures of Metro Manila because I know that almost everyday went back to the provinces so the streets are almost empty. I have chosen Luneta Park because well, there is quite a number of scenic spots that is perfect for my Olympus T-100 digital camera.  Here are some of the pictures I took:

And after walking several kilometers taking pictures of the park, I got so hungry so I went to SM Mall of Asia to dine at Racks(I like famous ribs that is unique to RACKs and much better than Kenny Roger's and cheaper too).

Ooopppsss...I still have some left overs....but really...I enjoyed the meal.

My Computing Requirement has changed

It has been quite a while since I last created a post in here because I became too busy with my assignment, adjust to the new work environment and location and overcome some obstacles but now I hove found a time to at least make a post. With the new work environment, almost all of my objectives have changed including my preference on the laptop that I wanted to buy.

I think the Lenovo Thinkpad X100e can no longer meet my computing needs. I need more power and because of this, I would have to postpone buying a full laptop for a while. Instead, I am on a spending spree on clothes, accessories and shoes. I really need a pair of new shoes, something that is not leather, not rubber, but both. I need a shoes that is not as heavy as a leather shoes nor a shoes that I could not use while working in the office, and when I go to the gym, I do not have to change my shoes.

While shopping, I found a great pair of shoes that is just perfect for my requirement. I have chosen the Outdoors by Fila(a popular brand in Italy). It is just looks great on my feet and very light just as if I am not wearing a shoe.

Then after several hours of walking, I happen to pass by a KFC outlet in Conception, Marikina so I went and bought some food for dinner.

The food was delicious and I enjoyed eating while watching Miriah's Japan Concert on DVD with my Samsung Syncmaster EX2020.
