I Just bought a new wireless mouse

The old mouse I bought from CDR King has worn out after 3 months I bought it. It was cheap wired optical  mouse. I really did not know why it got busted (it still working but the left button is already hard to press. I have to press it 5x to click on something and is already affecting my productivity)but anyway, I am really planning to replace it with a wireless mouse.

So I went to Asianic(a computer shop that has branches in almost all SM Malls) and found this A4Tech wireless mouse. It looks ok, no wires, but it needs to be powered by 2 AAA batteries, a little more comfortable to hold on because it is heavier than my old mouse and I no longer have to click 5 times anything on the screen. Now that has really solved my problem.

It was a lazy weekend and I still have time to stroll around and I thought I should take some more random pictures of Metro Manila because I know that almost everyday went back to the provinces so the streets are almost empty. I have chosen Luneta Park because well, there is quite a number of scenic spots that is perfect for my Olympus T-100 digital camera.  Here are some of the pictures I took:

And after walking several kilometers taking pictures of the park, I got so hungry so I went to SM Mall of Asia to dine at Racks(I like famous ribs that is unique to RACKs and much better than Kenny Roger's and cheaper too).

Ooopppsss...I still have some left overs....but really...I enjoyed the meal.

My Computing Requirement has changed

It has been quite a while since I last created a post in here because I became too busy with my assignment, adjust to the new work environment and location and overcome some obstacles but now I hove found a time to at least make a post. With the new work environment, almost all of my objectives have changed including my preference on the laptop that I wanted to buy.

I think the Lenovo Thinkpad X100e can no longer meet my computing needs. I need more power and because of this, I would have to postpone buying a full laptop for a while. Instead, I am on a spending spree on clothes, accessories and shoes. I really need a pair of new shoes, something that is not leather, not rubber, but both. I need a shoes that is not as heavy as a leather shoes nor a shoes that I could not use while working in the office, and when I go to the gym, I do not have to change my shoes.

While shopping, I found a great pair of shoes that is just perfect for my requirement. I have chosen the Outdoors by Fila(a popular brand in Italy). It is just looks great on my feet and very light just as if I am not wearing a shoe.

Then after several hours of walking, I happen to pass by a KFC outlet in Conception, Marikina so I went and bought some food for dinner.

The food was delicious and I enjoyed eating while watching Miriah's Japan Concert on DVD with my Samsung Syncmaster EX2020.

Some brownies for deserts

I went to Cubao this afternoon to check again the Lenovo ThinkPad X100e. I can't see any computer shop that displays the netbook not even the Lenovo shop at the SM Cubao Cyberzone. So instead, I just walk around and check each of the available netbooks that has almost the same specs as the Lenovo ThinkPad X100e and these are the Asus EEE Pc 1201T and the MSI Wind U230.

Of all the three netbooks, MSI Wind U230 has better specs compared to the two netbooks while the Asus EEE PC 1201T is the cheapest, and the Lenovo ThinkPad X100e has the best appearance and of course the classic ThinkPad boxy design.

As of today, I still think that the Lenovo Thinkpad X100e is the best choice but I am not planning to buy it locally although I haven't made up my mind yet. Before I went home, I happen to pass by a stall that sells lovely brownies so thought I should buy some, and took some pictures of it using my Olympus T-100 digital camera.

I watch cool movies with Bufallo Portable DVD

Watching movies is one of my favorite past times and since my Qube M1 Netbook does not have a built DVD, I forced myself to buy a new DVD portable player and I have chosen the Bufallo Portable DVD reader and writer. I did not really shopped around to see any other brand to compare the price, appearance and other features.

I have actually randomly picked it up because I am not really very particular and picky with this kind of gadget. I am supposed to just be contented with a VCD player but since the recovery disk that came along with my Qube M1 netbook was in DVD format so I am forced to buy a DVD reader/writer instead And after 2 months of using it...so far, I have no regrets. Its black glossy appearance helps beautifies my computer table.

Some of the features of the Bufallo Portable DVD:
  • 8x DVD-R Read/Write
  • Ultra Slim Design
  • USB Bus Powered
  • Includes Cyberlink Data Writing software
I rarely use the DVD Burning feature of this gadget because I don't have much data to store permanently on a DVD. But who knows, probably in the future there could be a time when I really need to use it maybe. But for now, I am so happy that I am able to watch high quality movies with this gadget.

The gadget I use to access the internet

The internet has become an important part of my life. There has not been a day I never surfed the internet in the a past 10 years. It is really very addictive. To access the internet, I used to stay at an internet cafe for hours. I even have to wake up very early in the morning just to rush at the internet cafe. Then there came 3G Broadband connections that made connecting to internet anytime, anywhere possible.

Just after buying me a netbook, I immediately bought a 3G USB Modem from Sun Telecom...but then 3G signal in my apartment was poor. I could hardly connect to Sun's 3G network, so I have to figure out a way to enable me to use the 3G device to accept other 3G Broadband providers. After 3 days, I have successfully unlocked it and now I am able to access Globe Telecom's 3G Broadband services. But still, the connection was very slow but then, Globe's 3G service is so much better than the previous. But before I connect to the internet, I need to stay near the window and I need to put my netbook on top of a box about 1 ft high so that it can pick up the signal. I used that setup for almost 3 months.

Then came the Globe Tattoo MyFi device. The moment I first heard about it, I definitely liked it because it will solve the inconvenience I was suffering and I also wanted it to end. So rushed to Globe's nearest outlet, bought one immediately. After 3 weeks of using it, accessing the internet from my apartment has become very convenient and I am so glad that this device has made it possible.

Thanks to these two gadgets. I no longer have to go out just to surf the internet.

My Gadget Blog was indexed by Google very quickly!

I am not really good at search engine optimization(SEO) because aside from not having the time to do it, I am not into this kind of business. But I hear a lot of buzz about SEO lately so I did some searching on twitter where I had a few active friends involved in SEO. Yesterday, I checked several of my friends' tweets and found dgadgeteer's tweets to be promising. Here is what dgadgeteer tweeted that has drawn my curiousity:
How to get your blog indexed by Google quickly http://seotechniques.zouze.com/?p=41
I have never thought that such a thing exists in the first place so maybe it could help me drive targetted traffic to My Gadget Blog. And why not, it won't cost me anything and won't eat much of my time nor won't hurt me neither. But my only objective is to get my blog indexed by Google quickly. My Gadget Blog is very new(only 4 days old). So my experiment could be a very good proof that dgadgeteer's tweet is really true. One thing missing though is how do I find out if my blog has already been indexed by google and well maybe because that information is easy to find on the internet. All I have to do google the question "how do I know if my blog was indexed by google?" and the search results was very useful. I have clicked on the top spot which is an article in e-how and it was very informative. The article says all I have to do is google the phrase "site:http://yourblog.com". And yesterday, November 4, 2010 google returned nothing. Then forgot about it and proceeded with may day job activities.

So I did tried immediately what dgadgeteer said in his blog. I created this, and that...created and account in there and here...and walllahhh...after an hour I am done. And look at what happened today, November 5, 2010:

Wow, it was true! Dgadgeteer's tweet was true! My Gadget Blog was indexed by google within 24 hrs! Hahahaha!

Random Pictures with my new Olympus T-100

Earlier today, I got the chance to take random pictures using my new Olympus T-100 digital camera. Like I said, I am not an expert in taking nice pictures and I did have the time to explore the most scenic spots in Metro Manila because of my day job but probably I will post some more pictures in this weekend.

I took some pictures of the clouds above me:

Then before I ate my dinner at PureGold Sn Mateo, Rizal:

And my new DVD Collections(all my VCD Collections were also destroyed by Ondoy):

I have also uploaded a sample video recording using my Olympus T-100 digital Camera while I was browsing my blog using my Samsung SyncMaster EX2020.

Update:
I took some more pictures yesterday.

While I am on my way to the office:

I also took a picture of the noodles I cooked for my dinner:

I just bought a Digital Camera!

I have really been on a hunting mode for digital camera for the last 6 months. And finally, today, I had the guts to check out digital cameras ranging from Php 4000 to Php 5000 and based on my budget, I have chosen the Olympus T-100 over its closest rivals, the BenQ Digital Camera(Php 4500), Kodak(Php 4500) and the Samsung(Php 4150). I don't know the exact models of the other three but I almost chosen the BenQ because it is able to record 720P video but then, I was turned off by poor demonstration. The Kodak Digital Camera is also good because it is quite a bit cheaper than the Olympus but the salesman can't show me how the recorded video looked like on a TV Screen and I was standing and waiting patiently for almost 30 minutes to no avail so I decided to leave. While the Samsung Digital Camera was just a dummy, the salesman do not want to show me the real gadget. I have chosen the Olympus T-100 because the salesman did a good presentation over the others. Aside from that, I like the form factor, it has the highest resolution(12MP) and well, it's because it is very easy to use.

I am a newbie in photography so I need to do some research and probably I will attend a short term course on Photography in the coming days. I am so excited to use this new gadget of mine. I can already shoot quality and original pictures for my blogs because that is my main motivation why I really should buy a digital camera.

I took a couple of pictures of the Olympus Digital Camera using my 5MP China made dual sim cellphone.

Just a few minutes after I have arrived at home, I immediately took a sample shot to see the quality of the image.

Wow! I am so amazed! Even though it was an ordinary shot. It looked fabulous. By the way, that bottle was placed on top of my M1 Qube Netbook and in front of my Samsung SyncMaster EX2020. It was the same place where I took the picture of the Olympus T-100 using my cellphone. It was a huge difference!

I need a big Screen!

After using my netbook for 3.5 months, I finally realized that I really need a big screen...but I am still short of my budget to enable me to buy a led lcd tv that normally costs at least Php 50,000. I saw a 32 inches Qube LCD TV that is full HD capable in the range of Php20,000. I can already afford it, but then it is not LED and it will be obsolete next year .  So I decided to walk around the numerous computer stores in Gilmore to check out the best LCD Screens.

After an hour of endless qerrying and scrutinizing, I settled for the 20" Samsung EX2020 LED LCD Screen and it cost me Php 7000 only. There is a newer version and slightly bigger (22") but it costs Php 15,000. It's a big difference but as I see from the computer shop's showroom, the image quality is the same so I just settled for the cheaper version.

It has been 3 weeks since I bought it and so far, I have no regrets. I enjoy watching high quality DVD and in 3 weeks time, I already bought 8 DVD movies.
